I forged this one from 52100 high carbon steel heat treating it with three normalizing and two tempering cycles to Rc 58-60 to assure a fine grain structure throughout the blade. All heat treating was done in a digitally controlled furnace.
Flat grind
An elk antler handle that I bought some time ago. It must have been from a spike because it is straight and deeply textured . It had a lot of popcorn texture on the base which was nice but very uncomfortable if the knife were to be used hard. I sanded it all off.
Overall length: 8 inches
Blade: 3 1/8 inches
Leather scabbard with a belt loop for a right hand carry
