Can you clarify the terms?

The term flat grind can refer to a saber flat grind (as often used by Buck, like the flat grind 110s) or full flat (like some of the Ron Hood designs).

By "flat" do you mean "full flat" and by "saber", do you mean "saber flat"?

The build thus far has yielded a Buck 104 Compadre with D2 steel! We need to know the grind.

This one is pretty straight forward so we'll most likely get the materials poll going as well!

Here is the grind poll!

I assume flat grind is a full flat grind?

I voted saber grind.

This is going to be an awesome knife.

Would the chart below represent the grinds we are voting on?

Typically, when Buck refers to a "flat grind", they are referring to a grind similar to what is labeled "sabre" in that diagram.

Also, I don't think Buck produces any full height hollow grinds, which that diagram depicts on the right. Buck's hollow grind (like most hollow grinds) might be called a saber-hollow grind due to the fact that the surface of the hollow doesn't go all the way to the spine.

I think the choices here might be between grinds 1, 2 and 3 of this diagram.

Edit: I see that SKBlades already clarified the grinds.

Thanks for the repost of the pictures.

I'm surprised that Buck can do a full height hollow grind. That's not too common.

No convex.... might have lost me... I'll save my vote for the tie breaker.

I picked flat but like all three. i assume its flat like the full flat 119 buck made recently.

I would think the Sabre would pack more of a punch on a hatchet. Where’s good ol DM to explain?
