my first knife of 2019 completed and the first one with something different from me.
8.66” [220 mm] kitchen knife, bunka style .13” spine tapering to a nicely thinner tip. One piece African pink ivory wood handle (hidden tang construction) . Spine and choil rounded. Balance at pinch grip. Three silicon bronze dots. Partial Forge finish, satin etched.
The blade steel is a suminagashi laminated steel.
Takefu white steel high carbon core with 11 mild steel laminations per side.
Hand forged and heat treated by me to a 63-64 RC,
This mild steel requires care in that it should be wiped down after use.
