9 years hard use

I had one that gave me nothing but trouble. Had to have it serviced twice. Had to get a replacement and now it runs like a dream. Mine is going on 3 years and running strong as ever.

That's crazy but I'm glad you have a good one now... Good to know that info

For those who have had a KBAC repaired where did you send it? My 27D has quit outputting power. I contacted KB control's distributor; they sent me to tech support who sent me to Galco for repair. Stated cost to repair was $345 not including shipping. A new KBAC-27D is $401.44. I've already boughten a new one but wondered about a cost-efficient repair.

The problem with going anywhere else is documentation. Lots of good electronics folks could do it, but they need schematics, pin outs, test points and results.

Without that, they would have to reverse engineer the whole thing and that's not cheaper.

I send come control boards from my harig to galco for repair and they did great but yeah it is expensive

is expensive
I guess what I found annoying is a firm quote of $365 with not having ever looked at it. With freight it's the same or more as the new one. I'll probably put it on the shelf and rob switches and stuff from it. At least until I get tired of looking at it LOL.

I assume you checked all the fuses and jumpers???
Maybe a person who does electronic repairs (or a friend with some electrical/electronic knowledge and a good meter) would take a look for obvious things like a blown capacitor or burned resistor. They could do voltage readouts at the various places to see if the problem is the power in or the power out.

Jesse, send me an email. I may have a spare 27D circuit board for you to try exchanging. I'll have to go look for it.
