What's everyone's go to for 940 scales? Do you prefer g10, carbon fiber, micarta or aluminum/titanium? I would prefer the little extra weight and feel of metal but worry about grip. Just looking for opinions, thanks

The factory green aluminum has a little grippy feel to it. And is slightly thinner than the g10 version. And being slightly heavier feeling, I prefer the good ole factory aluminum scales.

I am a fan of Dragonfly Scales - the fat carbon feels great and looks amazing:

The contoured Rockscales or the DeathGrip versions are the best I have used, imo (my preference being the latter). I recognize the strength/weight advantages of carbon fiber, but I don't particularly like the looks or feel in general.

IIRC, DeathofAllThings (DoAT) made my 94x scales. I think he's a member here and on Benchmade's forum. His one material design retains much of the lines of the aluminum scales, and has a beaded texture that gives a good grip. I don't know if he still makes them or if he is still on here.

I use one of the two scale sets he made for me on my 941, and switched the 941 black aluminum to my 940-2. I like the DoAT scales better than the stock ones on my 940-2. However, the stock aluminum scales seem more solid than the G10 counterparts (which is why I put them on the 940-2). Of the two, I carried the 941 w/ DoAT scales more.

I‘m good with the aluminum ones but didn’t realize there were so many nice aftermarket choices! My daughter has the carbon fiber ones and their nice to.
