940 vs 940-2 (Unleash your opinions)

I'm sending my 940 back due to terrible blade centering. I liked the aluminum handle while I had it, but I'm not partial to aluminum or g10. You guys tell me what to go for.

Here's the blade if you haven't seen it on my other post

My 940-2 is my favorite knife, out of about 60 knives in my collection. I have the 940-2 and 940-1501 from knife works (also g10) I returned the 943 after a day of carrying it

I prefer G10 over aluminum due to the scratching aluminum gets, if I were getting a 940 right now I'd go with the 940-1, then 940-1501, then 940-2 in that order. I prefer high edge holding steels if they're available
 
Let' see, the 940 has a metal scales and 154CM blade steel, right? And the 940-2 has G10 scales and S30v blade steel?

If I am correct, there is no question, the 940-2 is the way to go.
 
I have the 940-1 also and it came perfect--blade centering and all.I just have this thing about how sweeet cf looks--over half my collection has cf scales.The best cf scales I have seen are the ones on my spider monkey,they are perfect.

Both current iterations have s30v.
Earlier models of the 940 had 154cm, but not the current run.

The only difference is the scale material and I believe the g10 is Very slightly thicker.

I would go 940-1 or 940-1501 if you have the coin to spare. If not, I would go with the g10.

I don't have that much extra change, so I'd need to go with the basic g10 one. Good point on the scratching, I'd imagine the aluminum could end up looking really beat up? I like aged g10 because it has a nice shiny look

She's a beauty! A little out of my price range though! I want an EDC, and I'm positive that would be put on my wall. Definitely a little masterpiece

Note: The 940-1 is out of my budget, but I don't see many supporters of the aluminum 940.

I believe it was only $20 more than the 940-2 or 940, but just saw that it's also temporarily sold out. $20 is a small price to pay for a more comfortable g10 and muchhhh better steel

Alright, I will wait a little while. I love s30v, but wish they upgraded the steel for the price of the knife.

Quick question for everyone. I don't have the luxury of finding the one I want in a store, so how to I deal with blade alignment? Hope they send me an aligned one? Ask them to pick one?

Without a doubt this one!!
I would save up a little more and get this bad boy. I have 4 94x's and this one is my favorite by far! I put custom G10'scales on the others.

Since the 940-1 is out of range I would choose the 1501, only $20 over the 940-2. Steel upgrade and g10 are well worth it.
 
And if you are patient enough, the 940-1501 will be on sale for $180 (it was on sale for that price a few weeks ago). I just don't know when.
 
Love my original aluminum version, but it's all they had when I got mine. If they would have had all the options back then, I would have gone in this order:
1. Carbon Fiber (looks awesome)
2. G10 (hard worker)
3. Aluminum (only because the finish wears on the aluminum)

You can't go wrong with any of them.. it's a staple knife IMO. Lots of blade, light weight, durable, small in pocket.
