I found four sellers that have the Natchez Bowie in A-2 Made out of A-2 High Carbon Steel, Precision ground, heat-treated and Mar Tempered
Prices from $300 to $400. Laredo $380 I can only find one seller.
Anyone else finds Trailmaster, Recon Scout in A-2 thanks, I could not.
So now 4034, San-Mai, 3V, and A-2
Are we going to see a turn in Cold Steel???
I would certainly appreciate if Cold Steel marketing could let us know available products

I'd be very skeptical. Various places had the A2 stuff on their sites for years, and a quick search shows that's still the case, but prior to the buyout, CS announced that A2 wasn't going to happen, and that they were doing 4034 and 3V.

This. And really, who wants A2 when they are offering these in 4034 "surgical stainless" super steal?

NOTE: the above, like the steel mentioned, is a joke. Don't buy 4034.

It might be worth sending an email to those sites to ask if they actually have those A2 models in stock.
I would be very surprised if they do.

I don’t believe it myself. I just saw one listing for a Natchez that said it had an O1 blade, but was also A2 in the description.

Just recently, I bought a well priced kris ti-lite 6 that said it was a lynn thompson edition in 440C. It turned out to be the regular kris in AUS10A.

The worlds largest knife store says they are A-2 and they are available. Just trying to relay what is out there. Just MY OPINION these are still WAY too high for what you get. My surprise was they were announced to be made then not and now are, with NO acknowledgement from Cold Steel at all. No way around it, Cold Steel as a company is dropping the ball BIG TIME

A letter from Lynn Thompson.

Dear BladeForums,

We regret to inform you that the knives made from A-2 steel will not be delivered. We have made two attempts to obtain high quality A-2 steel but in both instances the steel was found to be inferior and knives made from it could not pass our high standard. We will be switching the knives in question to 4034 Stainless which we can obtain in very high quality and which has proven to be extremely tough and strong in our tests.

Sincerely,

Lynn C. Thompson
President - Cold Steel, Inc.

So Thompson sold the company and GSM made another decision, AND?????
Maybe the quality still sucks and GSM doesn't care.
Thompson also said around that time he had several storage containers of cold steel items that would be inventoried and they would decide how to go about selling them. Wrong? Changed his mind?? Lied??

And who is that store? You ar not allowed to post links but you can name them.
I just found an A2 Natchez selling for $89.00 on a site I don't know, which is so low it makes me wonder if it's not fake.

Smoky Mountain is listing them as a A-2, but they're wrong, and if you open the listing, it's for the 4034 versions -

Laredo - https://www.smkw.com/cold-steel-laredo-bowie-4034 .

The Natchez listed as A2, but if you search by barcode, it's the 4034 versions also - https://www.smkw.com/cold-steel-natchez-bowie-black-micarta .

Barcode 705442018704 .

I wouldn't trust any listings for the A2 version, they're a remnant from the old Cold Steel days that has stuck around.

Links are just for education.
