Hey all. I know lots of us carry a weapon daily in something like an attache or versapack. Even some of us wear 5.11 vests or pants that have compartments to hide a gun. Often these compartments have loop side velcro so you can attach a holster of some sort. Problem is, most of the holsters are just a 2" loop of webbing that attach to the trigger guard. This makes getting a good shooting grip on your gun hard because you don't wanna pinch the webbing and snag your gun. I hate these holsters personally and think they're more of a weapon holder... than holster. I had a neat idea on how to work out a good holster. May not be original but it works.
There is a company called "Aholster" http://www.lefthandholster.com/index.html And they make various types of holsters. But their pocket holster is on of the best I've ever used. It does not cover the bottom of the trigger guard so you can get a tight grip on your weapon for drawing. The pocket model also doesn't hold onto the weapon very tight (Which is doesn't need to in the pocket) and the top and bottom little hooks grab your pocket so that the holster stays in the pocket and the gun comes out lightening fast. They are also made to curve with your thigh as not to print badly. Great holsters all the way around. I have three of them and love them.
So for your pouches and pockets that have loop side webbing... just get some hook side adhesive back from Home Depot... apply to your Aholster... and you have pretty much the best CCW Pouch holster you can get. And it's quick at reholstering too since Kydex doesn't lose it's shape easily. Also you can tilt or turn it to give you the best drawing angle possible and once attached it'll stay there. This has been a life saver for me. Especially with the bigger CCW Compartments like the one on my Maxpedition Mongo Versapack. A weapon can truly tumble around in there. Plus you can always unhook it and use it as a pocket holster.
I just wanted to share in case anyone was looking for a better carry solution like I was.
