I've made about a half dozen of these ferruled kitchen knives, and while they don't really follow a strict adherence to a specific design, they're all similar enough to share the same name.

This is the first one I've made using a framed tang and composite handle. The handle is composed of rubbery Suretouch outside panels, lined with canvas micarta, lined with G10. The tang frame is made from 6Al 4V titanium, as is the pin and the ferrule. The strength to weight ratio of this general type of handle construction is without peer, imo, especially when titanium is involved.

I like to pinch the blade between my thumb and forefinger for most of the food prep that I do, and in that position the balance of the knife is neutral and precise in its handling. Probably the sharpest knife I've ever made.

Thanks for checking it out, and please free feel to comment or question!

Here's one I made a little while ago; https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/colibri.1961052/

Dang, Lorien! That’s a beauty! That looks impossibly slicey! 🤩

Edge literally disappears into nothing! Or appears to be emitting energy….. did you make a lightsaber?!?!? 😳
