Today is publication day for the New Joy Of Cooking....
When my Grandmother, who was a very smart and forward thinking woman, wrote the first “Joy” in 1931 I very much doubt that she could foresee that what my Mother referred to as a “little acorn” would grow into a mighty oak and in various editions sell some 20 million copies and be carried forward by her daughter, grandson and great grandson and his wife.
My son John and his wife Megan have done an absolutely wonderful job on this latest edition. It is, I think, the most comprehensive book on cooking and the culinary arts currently in print.
John and Megan have managed quite successfully to recreate the helpful, easygoing approach to the tasks at hand that were the hallmark of my grandmothers style....
Bladite. Has embedded their stint on CBS Sunday Morning in the thread below.... Drop by and get acquainted with them... I think they are pretty special!
if you like what you see remember the non knife people on your Christmas list who might like or profit from a bit of sage cooking advice....
As a very proud dad I must share that it hit #6 on Amazon....
it is a damn fine Book!
