with the people on this site and the number of quality knife makers out there i thought it would be interesting to see people's sharpest knife. i 'll have a picture of mine in a couple of days.

You don't need a very high quality knife to achieve hair splitting sharpness, you just need to know how to sharpen your knife... but having high quality knife certainly helps.

Here couple of pics I have posted earlier.
Had some fun with Yuna Mini Hard 2 (friend helped to take some pictures).

My sharpest 'out of the box' were the Ti framelocks below, with box stock Buck 110s right behind them:

No doubt, the (far right above) Kershaw 1725SG2, a JYDII in Ti & SG2 knife steel, came as sharp as a microtome - the absolute sharpest knife I own. The Buck 172 Mayo TNT (far left above), a Ti framelock with an S30V blade, is second, followed by the BMs shown - mini & regular Skirmish (635BK & 630), Ti-framelocks with S30V blades, and the current production 760BK LTi (Ti & M4) all about the same sharpness wise - exemplary, for sure.

The sharpest knife I've ever produced was a Buck 110 (420HC) sharpened on a Spydie Sharpmaker - no where near the Buck 172's level, sadly - but easily repeated.

Not so much the sharpest knife but the sharpest steels, some steels just get insanely sharp.
I just went through your pictures & videos on your PB account and you have some amazing pictures man. I don't typically do that (hope it doesn't offend ya) but after seeing a few of your polished edges I had to. I also like what you did with your Outkast, I've yet to take my down (angle wise) as much as you and I now would like to. I can see they vary but whats the more "popular" angle your putting on your folders, or does it really vary from knife to knife? They look around 20 conclusive but it's hard to tell.

Anyway I REALLY love your pictures man (just beautiful) you have alot of skill

What knife is this?:

My sharpest blade? Any of my carbon steel or low alloy steel folders. Might as well show this one:

10-15 is about average, thank you for the kind words.

Knife is a BM 760 lum in CPM-M4.

My pictures won't do justice to knifenut1013' edges. I got two back from him yesterday. Just crazy crazy sharp. One was 01 and the other a Gerber s30v.

You have the Barkie and a check on the way today.

Not AS sharp as knifenuts, but I don't think this is too bad using a crappy Lanksy diamond set.

The CPM 154 blade on this Todd Begg Gent's Glimpse is the sharpest thing in my stable.

There are some really skilled people here. I've been sharpening for near 40 years and I am no where near Knifenut1013's level. It's like watching an artist IMO.

Knifenut's camera skills are exceptional too.

The one guy I would not hesitate sending my best knife too for a sharpening as he's just that much better than me.

Knifenut1013, I salute you! Joe/Raleigh

Ditto...Jason just convexed my modded Izula......can't imagine a sharper knife.

After a little work with sandpaper and strop this quickly became my most impressively scary sharp blade...

I can get any knife to a nice shaving edge, but this one is on a whole other leavel!! :D

well, the storm is bad enough today that I'm messing around in the house. Decided to strop this up and see.

I agree with knifenut 100% , all steels are not even close to equal no matter who sharpens them. The low end steel has not got the properties to obtain the edge as a steel like s30v cpm154 or s110v . I have never made a knife out of s110v but have 2 pieces from cruciables old stock and will make myself a knife to show off. I read that the edge holding is 2 twice that of cpm154 and it holds a edge almost 4 times longer than 440c . With that being said I free hand sharpen all my knives and Im very confident my knives are 90 % or better than any factory sharpened knife. I have seen one san mai blade as sharp as mine and vg10 is very good steel. Thats why im stuck on using cpm154 for the majority of my knives.
