I found BF a couple months back and was amazed that there were this many knife nuts out there, but all the good advice in Shop Talk reminded me that I've been wanting to make knives since I was a kid (not all that long ago!) and I've finally gotten motivated to get started. I picked up a couple of books, made a couple of POSs :o just to get the feel of my new (and extremely cheap, but it will work for now) belt grinder, and have a forge on the way since heating with a propane torch just isn't cutting it (sorry for the bad pun). Hopefully I will have something worth taking pics of next month. Until then, I just wanted to say thanks to all of you knife makers out there that do such great work and are always encouraging us newbies, :thumbup:

You should put down where you are located and maybe one of the maker here will invite to their hop to get you started. You are welcomed over here if you are in my area.

Thanks, I wish I was in your neck of the woods. I'm unfortunately stuck in Evanston, Wyoming- but if there are any makers around here I'd love a chance to watch them work.

Walter
