Anybody make one of those? I would like to have a sturdy, lockable container in which to keep my important documents, one that I could hopefully find later in case of a tornado. Make sense?

Kinda along the lines of LoJack? Orange color?

Thanks.

would'nt your gun safe be heavy enuff ???? actually i've never thought about it. my gun safe and contents probably weigh 900-1000 lbs.

If a tornado can pick up a cow or a car or a house I don't think a 1,000 pound gun safe would be much of a problem.

I haven't heard of anything but it sounds like a good idea. I wonder though if a safe would stay closed in a tornado or if it would get sucked open.

Hmm, sounds like a job for the Myth Busters!

You could use one of the beacons that skiers use in case of an avalanche.

To subvert the problem of flying safes and needing a tracking beacon  I put mine in a 8x12 master closet / concrete vault/ safe room:D:p!!!

All the above wraped into 1 neat package (8 inch walls w/ 5/8 rebar 8 inches on center from 24inchx 24inch footer w/4 5/8 bars ,6 inch thick lid 5/8 bar 12 inch grid and a fema approved f-5 door steel reinforced triple throw bolt)!!!:thumbup::thumbup: haven't tested yet (hope i NEVER HAVE TO) BUT I lived thru 1 and live in Tornado alley Oklahoma:D.
