A shoe blade

In movies and such you once in a while see a character wearing a pair of shoes that when pressure is applied in a certain way (i assume, correct me if you know better) a hidden blade extends from the tip of the footwear. Now I have no real use for this but find myself intrigued on how this would be made, and would like to try and make a shoe/boot that could do this as a project. So i come here asking if anyone has ever made something like this, or know of a website with instructions on how to do it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks alot

Eh... I would imagine something like an OTF switchblade modded into a shoe. It's illegal in most places, btw.

Post this in prac-tac.

Someone there is bound to have written an essay on the practical uses of footwear-mounted cutlery.

Wouldn't be a good idea for me because I'm always accidentally kicking my other foot when I walk :o

If you put a knife in your shoe, you won't have room for your shoe-phone!

Silly man, every good prac-tac ninja stores his phone/comms in the OTHER shoe ;)

edit---what's even funnier is that he really did post this in prac-tac + got some "expert" answers

I personally think the shoe-mounted rocket spike launcher is a much better "Tactical" choice.

Or perhaps the shoes with a fishtank and a goldfish!

Little factoid. The knife-boot guy from Roadhouse is one of the guys who does the Cold Steel videos.

Beat me to it, Like on the road house vid, you don't really need one to pop out, you just attach one to the toe and make it blend in. this thread is funny.

There's a sentence you don't hear every day:p

Well, they already have done threads extolling every day subjects like brass + plastic knuckles, arm-holsters, short-swords, hero-worshiping, MMO, BJJ, The Case for Insecurity, and a bunch of other highly practical topics.

I figured a Nike or Reebok switchblade shoe would fit right in.

I'm surprised no one mentioned the episodes of the "Beverly Hillbillies "where Jethro wanted to be a "Double Naught Spy" and wore the dreaded footwear. To demostrate he would ingage the blade and kick Miss Jane's" desk to promplty get his foot stuck.
