AAA Flashlight w/ pocket clip....

Some of you may have read my previous post about finding a nice flashlight. I picked up an Inova light that goes on your keychain, and I like it a lot.

I have almost all of my flashlight "bases" covered. I have:

-Small maglite in my truck for misc things
-4 D cell in truck in case somebody gets rowdy
-Inova led keychain

Now all I need is to get my hands on another Surefire (I had an executive that I traded, shoulda kept it). And one to carry on me as an EDC.

Now, what I want:
- Something to clip to my left back pocket, next to my wallet.
- About the length of a standard pen (can be a bit longer) I'm guessing a 2 AAA light will work
- "Deep pocket" carry clip
- THIN head that is the same size as the barrel of the light

Basically I'm looking for an ARC AAA light, only a bit more powerful (two AAA's) and with a pocket clip. Does something like this exist? LED would be nice, but not needed.

If you have a Target in your area, the River Rock 2xAAA comes very close to what you are looking for. Has a clip but it's mounted about an inch below the end of the head. This light is only $10 and is a surprising performer too.
 
Does it have a thin head on it? Something like the Arc, where the head is the same size as the barrel?

I have the 2 AAA from Maglight, but the head is too large to carry in my back pocket.

I was at Target today looking for lights (Picked up the Inova Keychain light) and didn't notice that one you're talking about. I really wish ARC just made their same light only with two AAA's instead of one. THAT is exactly what I'm looking for.

check out the AA and AAA lites by fenix at TAD gear, they are pretty darned good and not too expensive ~$50, close to ARC in quality imho.

No, the head is almost exactly the same diameter as the Mag 2xAAA and the battery tube a little thicker -- it's a bright LED though.

I don't know of anyone who makes a straight tube 2xAAA light.
 
No clips with the Fenixes at nearly $50. I cannot fathom why they don't provide a reasonable clip at this pricepoint for their lights.:mad:
 
Not exactly what you are looking for but Pelican does a 'N' cell (x3) light with a pocket clip. Its very slim, runtime is about 150 hrs IIRC. I have one in my PSK.

I second that nomination of the 2 AAA river rock light from Target. It is FANTASTIC for the price. A regulated light, with a removable pocket clip at 10.00 cannot be beaten.
