Just tried looking this up and came across this thread, anyone have any pics or info on this??

Joey, what kind of acid were you thinking?

Honestly, I think you'd be better off just anodizing it then stonewashing it. We all know that this works fine, plus anodizing titanium at home is cake.

gonna try acid stonwashing my sage 2 Ti scales. Will put some pics up when I finish

I did some attempts at acid washing TI with a few solutions. I had very little to no effect in a 45 min time. Including the PCB etch from the shack.
I think anodizing is the way to go. I have a set up for that coming.
Any thoughts guys.
I am curious as well , as to why it did not do anything.

I'm no expert, but I believe titanium oxidizes differently than steel. Titanium doesn't really react with acid the way steel does, so that's why you're seeing little to no effect on it when using PCB etching solution. I've seen people have good success oxidizing and darkening Ti with Oxi-Clean, though I have no experience.

Before OxiClean:

After Stonewash, OxiClean, and another Stonewash:

Nice results,
I think that would look great for blasted TI that wears away after a while. Thanks for sharing.

I tried acid washing the sage 2 scales and I did not see any difference either, left them in for an hour. I asked around on instagram and was told to use oxiclean like Molle Ninja did so gonna try that
