I have a lb of this stuff in..roughly, jelly bean size pcs. Is acetone the product for dissolving this material before trying to stabilize with it? Thanks

John, I believe acetone is the method most makers use to desolve the B-72 but it's not an easy product to get mixed up. It goes into solution pretty darn slow to my way of thinking the times I tried it. Good luck !!! Ron

Is anyone here using this stuff? How is it working in wood? Does it accept dyes? Whats the shelf life after its mixed? ?????

I never got good results with wood. I use it on antler. Acetone and Toulene both work. I'm using acetone currently.

Seems to last forever. It is one of those things that will re-dissolve in solvent (like many finishes). So I don't think there's a permanent chemical process that it goes thru when dissolved that would age it.

Ron's right about dissolving slowly.

Try a 1/3 cup to a pint of acetone. You can thicken or thin from there.

Good luck.

Steve
