Adding a belt loop to a leather sheath

I have a vertical draw leather knife sheath that I would really like to be a cross draw style sheath. The sheath is 9 1/2 “ long x 3 “ wide. I am looking for advice and ideas as to how I can add a wide loop to the sheath, essentially making it both cross and vertical draw.
Thank you for any suggestions you may have. I would add a photo but I can’t seem to get one into the posting, sorry.

Hands down, use imgur.com. Just use imgur.com. USE IMGUR.COM
So easy. They generate the BBCODE for you - just upload the image, copy the bbcode, paste into your thread, huzzah.
Create an account there, you can even organize your images into albums to share. So easy!

And a photo of your sheath, as you know, would go a long way to having one of the leather guys/gals to see if they can offer suggestions for you or might be open to create something themselves.

Took a while, but I think I got it. Thank you.

So as I was asking….is there a way of adding a dual belt loop to essentially make this sheath a cross draw and vertical carry? Thank you for your help and guidance

Glad to see you figured that out as far as posting images go. You can check this

thread here

to see one method that I came up with that allows you to turn a vertical into a horizontal sheath, might very well work for your sheath too.

I really like your design, thanks for sharing. I added another photo of my knife. My knife may be to blade heavy for your design being that far back on the existing loop. But I am more then willing to try.
I have the images out there now and look forward to the responses.

The actual strap that goes around could be wider to help, and if it's a heavy knife two snaps might be a good idea as well. Otherwise I'm not sure what else is available for this particular situation. Let me know if you decide to have me make something for you
unfortunately I would need to borrow the knife and sheath to make sure everything fits correctly and also the thickness and width of your belt will be important to know to make sure it will ride securely.
