I hope somebody can help me whit this. I purchased two bars of 440C and two bars of ATS34 from Admiral Steel. They do not specify which one is which. Two of them are painted orange and two are purple on the ends of the bars.

Has anyone else ran into this before? I'll call them tomorrow if needed.

Thanks.

Give them a call, its your best bet, good luck I'm sure their customer service people will be happy to annoy you:) Just got the phone with them Friday if you cant tell my my attitude, my steel will only be coming from Aldo from now on.

NJ steel baron (Aldo) is the man by the way.

Why the hell would they ship two different steels like that and not label them? There is something wrong with that thought process...

Aldo

They are flat, I just don't know what they are.. I should have checked with Aldo. Every time I visit his site its under construction. (it looks like its working now:grumpy:)

I'll call them tomorrow.

The last ATS-34 I received from Admiral was coded yellow and was labeled ATS-34. This was several years ago, but I just thought I'd throw that out there. . .

The last batch I received was as follows. Yellow-1095, Green-1075/1080, Purple-ATS34. I have never purchased 440C.

I did purchase some 440c from admiral and it say's 440c on it? I will look to see what color

My recent ATS34 from Admiral has been purple. Also, is one an almost glossy finish and the other more of a sandblasted surface. If so, the glossy one is ATS34.

Our 440C does not come from Admiral so I can't help you with that color code.

Rob!

there 5/32 or less is cold rolled causing the glossy finish . Thicker stuff is hot rolled , which explains the finish . Purple is ATS , as I get it .
