Hello I'm looking for a good Barlow knife. Does Case make a Barlow anymore? I also was looking at a rough rider Barlow, it looks like a good deal andwork knife and wouldn't have to worry about breaking them. Any brand suggestions? I might sell my GEC #73 Tidioute to one of my friends if and nice Barlow catches my eye thanks!

What price range?

Also what size are you looking for?

I have never owned a Rough Rider, but there are members on here who own high end folders, and recommend the RR. If you like it, and it is a work knife, hard to go wrong.

I like my S&M grandad barlow, but the fit can be hit or miss.

My price range is around 50-100, I would probably go for a regular size Barlow I already have enough watch pocket knives ha ha. And your right about a good work knife, my old Camillus tl-29 has taken a beating but is still a performer and I only paid 20 bones for it. I will have to look around for an older Case Barlow, Case is my favorite company and I'll stick with them through and through, my 90's stockman is still a great knife even with a few f&f flaws.

I think a good one to consider, among the others already mentioned, is the A.G. Russell Medium Barlow Lockback. I've never owned one but I've had the desire to since they first came out. Reviews are very good and the price is reasonable.

I used to own a Rough Rider Barlow but I included it as a freebie with another knife that I sold. Not because I didn't like the Barlow but because I thought the buyer might appreciate another good knife.

Lots of choices available it is going to depend a lot on your budget. Northwood has a great barlow both in single blade and two blade they will run between $130 and $160. Rough Rider $5 to $15 depends on what you want to spend. Also check the exchange great GEC Barlows pop up there often at great prices. I love Barlows I have about 20 of them.

I have the AG Russell medium lock back and it is a very well made knife. I has no half stops (Mr. Russell apparently doesn't like them) is pinchable or with practice you can open it with one hand. I can't stress how well made it is. All for under $50.

I also have four RR Barlows and like them a lot. They are pretty little knives, well made with a hairline gap here and there, crazy sharp out of the box, and under $20. To me that's a price that can't be beat for such a nice little knife. I wouldn't try to use it as a pry bar or screwdriver, but then I won't do that to any knife. But if you want a good little user that can be easily replaced for little cash while still looking nice, you just can't beat it.

Queen makes a nice one, especially if you think like I do that a Barlow is a two blade knife.

Great advice guys thanks! I'm going to check out the Russell Barlow it sounds like a very knife knife and for under $50 I can get a RR and check that out also.

For under $50 you can get three or four Rough Rider Barlows with different handle materials and sizes, 1 and 2 blades :)

There is a RR standard sized Barlow and a smaller "pealow"- here they are with a TC Barlow for comparison.:)

I like the older Case Barlows, with some looking you can find the red bones and Appaloosa bone for under 50 bucks and the delrin for 30 or so.
Both of these red bones were found for under 50 bucks, one or the other is in my pocket every day.
