Advice on where to sell knives

so not really sure where to post this thread so ill leave it here. But where is a good place to sell knives? like offerup or letgo or craigslist? stuff like that. trying to get rid of some knives

Well, if you buy a gold membership or higher, you can sell right here on the forums. Only place I'd ever sell a knife.

As KOD stated, with a gold membership you can buy and sell all day on here. I've had good luck using eBay, but most steer clear due to fees and policies.

Craigslist isn't great in my experience. Not enough knife fans in the areas I've tried. Of course, it's free to buy and sell on there. So there's that.

In part, it would depend on the type of knives that you are selling. If they are home shopping network fodder, then this wouldn’t be the best place. Likewise, some antiques like ethnic knives and swords and military items, might do better on sites which are more dedicated to those items. The Bladeforums does best with collectible production and custom knives. Good photos, a clear description and an honest reputation are your best selling tools.

I found that a gold membership here is the best way to go. The vast majority of people here are trustworthy and easy to deal with.

Ive hocked a few wares on facebook marketplace with success. Not sure how a knife would sell, but if you have a fb its a breeze to slap an item up there for sale.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but man... the Facebook knife community is like the Reddit knife community. Pretty crappy.

I think BF is the best place to buy and sell especially traditionals. Since you have to buy a $30 membership getting scammed is pretty unlikely and those people don’t hang around here much anyways. Need to renew mine it ran out this week but it’ll have to wait till next pay day

I’ve sold probably 15 knives or more on here and they’ve eventually all went.

Knife swap on reddit is ok but from what I’ve found it’s more unlikely to sell on there than on the exchange. I’ve had pleasant dealing with the folks over there too.
