I'm after the years of manufacture for the G96 model 960 folding knife if anyone can help me out please?

Hattori? There's a couple of members who probably can help you with that. You'll need to wait for them to respond.
K KenHash
would be your best bet, but he's not been online for a month, which is unusual for him. Hope he is OK.

T tltt
might also know.

Ken got burned on the exchange by using ppff and replying to an unsolicited email. Said he was done here. Sad to seem him leave, he was a wealth of knowledge.

1973 - early 80's* is the date for the knives. Jet-Aer / G96 stayed in the gun business long after that, but the knives only ran for a decade or so. I've never seen a catalog for them, most dating has to be done through old sporting magazine ads. Your knife was based on the Buck 110, so it would've ran long. They were indeed made by Hattori, quality and collectability is very good. They never listed a steel type, but it was good, one of the higher AUSs or 440s I'd bet.

Edit - That was for the black box line the 960 was part of, I see now they had a few other knives that came out later. 1973-89 seems right for the full line.
