After market replacement clips for Spyderco wire clips?

I know they're popular with most people but I'm not a fan of the Spyderco wire clips. I just don't like them for various reasons I won't get into. I've removed them from all my knives that have them. Most of them are small, deep pocket carry knives (Dragonfly, Pingo) and I find the clip is unnecessary in this instance. But I miss having a clip on larger knives, the Sage 1 especially.

Looking at the mounting spot on the Sage grip, it appears that a solid metal clip could be fabricated to fit there to replace the wire clip. Does anyone know of any sources for such an item?

I made one myself from bike spoke because factory deep wireclip from sage/caly series was to short for manix2 lw and did not hit the flat part with logo. Two LM's and a dremel tool did the job and here it is...
