I need some help here

My father n law is an electrician. He was given an AG RUSSEL a few years back as a gift (all steel, partially serrated blade). Today the blade is chipped at the nose and needs a sharpening.

What is the best way for me to get this knife as near to new as possible?

What is the best way to sharpen this blade?

He loves this knife just wish it was new again. I tried to do research but cannot seem to find any info.
Any details or advice would be greatly appreciated.

-Thanks again

a pic would help.

but if it is just a small portion of the tip, the fix is pretty easy.

use a file or belt sander to reprofile the tip to your liking, then resharpen. it wont be good as new, it isnt possible to reattach the missing piece, but it will look and cut a heck of a lot better.
