airgun trigger adjustment help

hey guys. Have an rws model 48. I adjusted my old gun but have just kept this gun how my grandfather gave it to me. Took a screw driver today to try and get a better adjustment. I can feel when the first stage ends and the second stage begins, where as before i t felt like a continuous trigger. The second stage is short and I can feel a definite stop, not a wall but I can feel when the second stage should start. That's how it should be, right? That's how my old gun was.
