This guy is painting plastic sheaths and selling them as Carbon fiber. I bought one for a UT6 and was very disappointed. He has since changed the headings on his auctions but this one with the false description still remains. Yes Al this is the guy who sent you the nasty email. And to think I almost bought a mini Damascus Halo from you, you probably colored the blade with a crayon yourself. I know I'm probably going a little overboard with this but I was PISSED! And it's just so wrong to purposefully mislead people.

Arms, are you saying what you got isnt what's in the pic? The pic sure looks like carbon fiber.
BTW, is he a member here?

The material is carbon fiber pattern Concealex, not real-deal carbon fiber. Yes, CF pattern Concealex looks painted, but I like it better than plain black Kydex.

Dexter is right. This appears to be CF pattern Concealex. I believe this is the same stuff that Rob Simonich uses for some of his Pikunis, and that REKAT supplied with the production Pikuni.

Regards,
Joe

And colored Titanium does not mean with a magic marker. Thanks for the support. He now calls them Kydex, not CF pattern Concealex.

He should not be listing these sheaths as being made of carbon fiber. It is misleading. I can see how a person would buy one for $40.00 and be pissed off when they get it and learn it's not CF.

"Carbon fiber pattern" something is not CF, like imitation leather is not leather. That says it all. You got taken advantage of and you are right getting upset.

I have 4-5 Carbon Fibre pattern Concealex sheaths made by our own Eric/Normark (and a couple made by Mike Sastre/River City Sheaths), it does seem the pattern is just printed/painted on normal Concealex, but I just like the look of it better:)

But I have to agree, if he's advertising them as CF, they'd better be made of CF. Frankly I'm not even sure pure CF would work as a sheath materiel? Maybe Eric or one of the other sheath makers could check in and let us know?

The sheaths are Carbon Fiber pattern Concealex.
I make them for Mr. Eisenberg (and also the REKAT PIkuni sheaths) and I'm sure that he is not intentionally trying to mislead anyone. You guys are a little quick on the trigger. A lot of people use the name kydex as a generic name for all the thermoplastics - took me about a year to make the distinction between kydex and Concealex with Jerry VanCook.
