Al Mar Ultralight Falcon or Hawk?

I'm really intrigued by the weight of these knives. I need something light to carry in a suit pocket, and I'm thinking of the Hawk. My only concern is whether it is too small for actual everyday use. Does anyone have experience with the size of it? I like the fact that there is no clip.

I have one of the Falcon Ultralites which is the right size for me. Very light, and the full flat grind cuts well. I generally remove the clip and carry it loose. I have handled the Hawk a little in stores and didn't care for it, but I have rather large hands. YMMV.

If the falcon is too small, why not the eagle? 4" blade, but still quite slim and light. I like the talon blade with thumb stud personally. I gave one to my brother in law for Christmas a few years ago and I really liked the action - it was tough to give it away.

By the way, the new Eagles were just released last weekend. These are the non-ultralight ones with the metal bolters and micarta or cocobolo scales. I have a micarta one with talon grind blade supposedly on its way to me now. I got to handle one at the blade west show. Pretty sweet.

Alittle off topic, but I'm just curious where you ordered your new Micarta Eagle from Brewthunda. Thaanks!

I have one of each. I like them both. I put a clip on the smaller one because it doubles as a tie clip on occasion....

At Blade West, I spent a good while at the Al Mar booth shooting the breeze with Gary Fadden and asked if I could buy the Eagle. Gary said he could sell me one on the spot without a box or have one shipped to me with a box. He had just received 200 serial numbered units back from the laser engraver shop a few days before. We negotiated a fair price. I'm guessing they'll hit the online stores any day now.
