ALICE pack Modification facilities needed

Do you guys know where I can get Alice packs modified? Like USTactical, but with more options. There used to be a site for Ararat Trading but they seem to have diappeared.
 
What exactly are you wanting to modify on the old rucksack? I could probably give you some pointers from there
 
I wasn't looking for any particular mod, just wondering what options others had done. I remembered seeing one were the Velcro map pocket was changed to a zipper. Carry handle was added. Also they would go over all seams and reinforce them. Plus a bunch others. Ararat Trading had some of the best options. You could pick and choice what you wanted.
 
After I looked over my good ole' large ALICE pack last night, I remembered all the mods that I had done to it. All of the stiching around the pack was reinforced again with thicker thread. I had a YKK zipper attached to the map pocket on top, had the snaps removed from the 3 large exterior pouches and the 3 small pouches, and had fastex(?) plastic buckles installed. I also had 1 9x18x3 pouch attached to the right side(not alice clipped but sewn into place) as well as 2 9x9x3 pouches attached to the left side. I had several more ALICE gear strips sewn wherever I had room (including the top of the map pocket to carry more gear.

Those are the mods that I had done to my ruck, and none of that was done while on active duty except for the reinforcement of the stiching, as well as the plastic buckles.

Makes you wonder what the term "light infantry" truly means.
 
I had the first modifications done by a very talented seamstress that did work at an Army navy store in Indy. I told her what I wanted and where I wanted things resewn, and she did just that. All of the other modifications were done by a guy that I was in the guard with four years ago (his wife did the same work to about six other guys rucks as well). Email me if you need any contact info for him. I will try and track him down. I know he is still in the guard but he might of just got deployed to Bosnia.
 
Go to www.tacticaltaylor.com there he's got several modification packages you can get on your ruck, never had mine there so I can't say first hand but I've seen his other stuff and it's good.
But I saw it on his website and thought I'd pass it on.Good luck
