Allen head pivot bolts: Why why why?

Sal?

After adjusting my Chinook pivot all of maybe four times, the allen head screw is already looking a little mangled, not to mention the fact that it is very difficult to get the action "just right" using an allen key. I have found that it is much easier to make this type of precise adjustment using a Torx driver on my other folders. My Starmate has been adjusted many times, and the (Torx) screw still looks like it came from the factory. Are there plans to go to a Torx head on the Chinook pivot, and if so can I order a Torx screw for mine?

Alternatively, is this a standard size pan head screw so that I could just buy one "off the shelf" somewhere?

Thanks,
Paul.

Hi Paul. It's a custom part. We have lots from other models. We can send you a new pivot, but it is not practical at this time to make up these pivots in Torx until the inventory is gone.

Another point of view. Allens are easily available anywhere in the world. torx are not.
