Altamont engraved Buck 110

They are engraved by a laser. This knife reminds me of the old Aurum deep etched knives.

I’ve seen them and they are really nice and there was a thread not to long ago about them. The only thing that kept me from getting one was I wanted an upgrade steel blade. I’d like to send my Alaskan guide 110 in to have it engraved with something similar but not sure if that’s possible.

They have 4 110's that they designed all with different embellishments. Only one with engraving on the blade. I have picked up all 4 and will post pictures of them all on
the next Sunday Picture Show. I hope they do more designs in the future.

Mighty pretty and fancy.
A mite too pretty and fancy 'cept maybe as a Sunday Go to Meetin' knife for me.

I like the idea of hidden pins on these. I wonder how fitting them as hidden could have happened.
i am assuming Altamont purchased stock knives in bulk then proceeded to customize them.
should have been possible to ask for the scales without having been drilled in pieces during the making of the parts.
No? But they would have looked so much better.

The African one is $375 thru Altamont. Than there are 3 other 110's that Altamont has that are in the $110 - $142 range. On black Friday a couple years ago they were 50% off. I purchased one of the African ones and a couple each of the others. Last year on black friday they did not go on sale. Maybe this year.

WOW! I really like that Statesman version!

I’m trying to justify the price with the standard blade steel though!

I bought 3 for $300 and I think the Safari Hunter is to fancy and over priced since it is done on a EDM. I bet it spits them out pretty fast. I've seen 2nd's for sale of The Safari Hunter on eBay, and they circle the flaw but I don't see it?

I think the flaw they circle is the centering of the engraving top to bottom. Most of the flawed ones seem to be near the edge on the bottom.
