I can remember reading Chris Ryan's account of the same Bravo Two Zero patrol. It's called 'The One Who Got Away' because he was. An amazing story of endurance. (Of course both of their stories are now in doubt but that's another issue) Ryan also uses his leatherman to snip through some wire on the Syrian border.

There is a book called 'The real bravo two zero' in which the author investigated all accounts of the patrol, including interviews with the Iraqi's who where involved. He found conflicting accounts and some evidence which casts doubt on both stories. I only read the news story on it myself so can't remember any more details.

McNab's new book is out in november and is called Deep Black . I think i will have to get a copy of 'The real bravo two zero' as i have not read this one .Also the other one i want read is 'Married to the SAS' by his ex wife ,dont think he was to pleased about it.
I wonder if he had a deal with Leatherman cause he mentions them so much in his novels (he even killed someone with the pliers in 'Last Lght').

Not to mention his constant referrals to his watch as "baby G" maybe he's got one with Casio as well...

oh yes and he also had his tracer watch http://www.traser.com/new/andy.htm but the site is down at this time .In a way i like his style as he refers to items by there brand name rather than just saying multitool or watch .He's also mentioned a mini maglite and there are others that i cant think of at the moment. If i ever had the chance to ask him id like to know if these items are mentioned because he actually used them or if he's just got a deal with them . Anyone got any veiws on this .

Well I have both of Mcnab's non-fiction and The One That Got Away. I thought they both corresponded well, but it would be interesting to hear the Iraqi's side of things, though how they were identified is another issue. I'm sure plenty of people stepped up to say they captured SAS people. On the other hand it sounds like a great book, does anyone know the author.

I've read them all, I think, and I liked the reference to Jim's Gun and Pawn shop in Fayetteville, NC in one of them.
