That do push all the right buttons don't it. Do love me some stag handles.

Yeah George. I been distracted by some Japanese craftsmen lately but my heart will always be in Nepal. Ive had a fond appreciation for Japanese joinery and the tools they use to do it. You would be surprised at the tools and methods they use to make wood chisels for example. The same tech is used in knives and many other crafts. The steel varies depending on the craft but really gives me an appreciation for the kamis that shape, harden, and temper these Khuks for example. The main reason ive been AWOL tho is im building my shop up while I still have a job and have plenty of time at. Ive been working from home but I still have plenty of time to work on the shop. Id really like to start a new thread and show yall the projects i made and shop improvements. I made a few didgeridoos to start with, then a work bench and now a knife and chisel sharpening station. I can guarantee you that you aint never seen anything like it.

SOS: "Yeah, nice grab!
Glad it found you!"

So start a new thread dude, we'd love to see this stuff. Don't let it take away from you work at home or building up the shop time. We'll be patient, I'll wait right here.
Do it in the Cantina.

Sorry to eavesdrop fellas.

I have studied all sorts of Japanese metalworking.
It goes with the territory.

Here is an interesting bit of trivia...

The word Kami un Japanese...

Kami (Japanese: 神, [kaꜜmi]) (literally "gods") are the spirits, phenomena or "holy powers" that are venerated in the religion of Shinto. They can be elements of the landscape, forces of nature, as well as beings and the qualities that these beings express; they can also be the spirits of venerated dead people. Many kami are considered the ancient ancestors of entire clans (some ancestors became kami upon their death if they were able to embody the values and virtues of kami in life). Traditionally, great or sensational leaders like the Emperor could be or became kami.[1][page needed]

But "our" Kamis are considered very poorly. My understanding is because they work, "in the dirt" and because it was a "smith" (goldsmith) who gave the Buddha
his last meal, which caused his earthly body to die.

I much prefer to think of them in the Japanese definition.

Words are funny.

Well NDog pushed the button but put it in a direct line to bawanna's house. It just arrived moments ago direct from Auntie. I don't know what I ever done to get on Ndog's good side but I'm surely there, (I know please don't call me Shirley).
Thank you sir, I looked at this one very hard and the desire was immense. Under the current situations I was focusing on ammo. You've made me very very happy and this thing looks even nicer in person than in the pics.
Can't thank you enough.

Awesome! I would love to see some of your projects in due time. I am a didgeridooer too. I got one at a renaissance festival when I was a little kid. I used to climb up in trees at the park with my didge and watch the people's faces wondering what the heck was making all those weird noises. I was a weird kid...

Ha! Thats great Eric! I got one from a friend for $100 but turned out to be a fake but it was at least made from the real eucalyptus termite eaten up center like they are supposed to be. It was just likely illegally harvested making it not-authentic. It was cracked and needed sealing and a beeswax mouthpiece but i managed to learn to play on it. Since I got interested in the shapes and such and figure bamboo was the best if I wanted to make a few of them to explore keys and toots, etc.
On another note: my computer needs an update seriously but I think i can get a thread started anyway.

天高皇帝远 =
The emperor is far away
? The book ?

Ha! Yes Kismet! The emperor is not too far away tho but she has to walk about 20 feet in the cold weather to check on me so I can work and play most of the night without disturbances. I play music on my phone in the doghouse through my guitar amp so she figured out that she can text me and the music stops. Then I know she wants something. OK back to the doghouse!
