Anodizing a knife scale with inlays.

I was curious if anyone had ever anodized a CRK with inlays before. Specifically, the micarta variety. Could it be done with inlays on it or might there be some kind of other complications to consider? I'm not really concerned how it would fare with wood inlays as I would never try it with those anyway.

My goal is just to add some color to the knife without using a lanyard. Might I be better off just anodizing the back spacer and lanyard pin instead of the scales for that?

Anodizing by electricity should be no problem with micarta inlays on...removing anodizing if you decide you dont like it could prove to be time consuming. Just food for thought.

I don't do any electro ano, but would something like multietch work for removal? Didn't know if the acid would impact inlays or glue.

Options for removing ano without removal of the inlays that I know of would be hand sand the ano off, or mask the inlays and blast it off. I wouldnt use chemicals on the inlays, but there may be some safe ones out there. Multi-etch could be one of them...would have to do some research. :)

Hey y'all! I haven't been here for quite a while but I was Googling a question I have about anodizing & inlays, which led me here.

My question is: Can I anodize a titanium scale while leaving in the carbon fiber inlay? I have a Ferrum Forge Exec that has some fading ano, but I don't want to remove the twill CF inlay to do it. Do I need to tape over it or anything?

I'm not too worried about having to remove the ano afterwards. The current ano color is blue, probably around 27V, which is what I'm aiming for anyway. Just trying to get the ano the same color but evenly distributed without worn areas showing.
