I have found that it completely depends on the size of the piece being anodized. Take it very slow, pull out the piece and dry it before deciding. The color can change dramatically when dry!
Alright and can i use anything else like etch but not exaclty that? And where can i get multi-etch? thanks^^& The chart above reflect colors achieved after etching the piece (Usually with Multi Etch). Without that surface prep you will get colors that are a bit duller, and will need voltages slightly higher to get there. That being said, Whitty makes a good point...there are a lot of factors such as:
How did you prep your part
whats the surface finish
did you etch
what electrolyte are you using (and how strong or diluted is it)
size of piece being anodized (as well as size of negative cathode)
once you get your supply, you are going to have to play around a bit![]()
i use eagle one mag wheel (etching) cleaner from the parts place works well and i dont have to orderr it in
