Finshed this one up this morning, it sure does seem small compared to that battle axe. OAL - 18 1/2", head length is 5 1/2" with a 3 1/4" cutting edge. Handle is curly maple with pewter caps. A little sterling silver wire inlay and 16 nickel tacks. The head is made by combining 2 different damascus billets, a lower layered billet down the center with a higher layered matching billet stacked top and bottom.

This baby is sharp, I was shaving arm hair with it when my wife came walking into the shop. Then she said " what are you doing, trying to cut your arm off, geez, will you ever grow up". My reply was "nope". :D

Thanks for lookin,

Bill

Oh man, Bill. You keep this up I'm gonna redo my shop and start building models. That's a great looking hawk. My hat is off to you.

every time i see a post with your name on it, i debate whether or not to look at it. will it inspire me or will i do what J said and start making models. you do some really nice work. Keep it up!

Wowsers Bill, you're gonna turn me to forging for sure if you keep showing off these gorgeous hawks!!!

Nice hawk!

Not only do I find that hawk to be really gorgeous workmanship, but the head shape just begs to be taken out on a "Chop 'til you drop!!" session in the woods. (insert drooly emoticon here)

Beutiful, realy like the way you shaped the poll, and the pattern looks great. I haven't tried a damascus hawk yet, to scared of screwwing up that much damascus!
