Another Old Hickory Modification Question?

Ive seen lots of nessmuk knives shaped from OH skinning knives but have yet to see one like this. I have a skinner that I never seem to use and just sits in my knife drawer. My sharpfinger and BR woodland get all the action while I'm hunting. So I decided I'm either going to give this knife away or try to modify it.

Has anyone seen an OH skinner mod'd into this shape? It seems as if it'd be the perfect skinner. I'm able to get my OH really sharp, but its so bulky and unrefined with its big blocky grip.

You may want to leave the bottom half inch real dull, or swell the handle at the top so your hand doesnt slide up onto the blade.

yes I'd be worried my hand slips onto the blade.. but looks practical.
Funny thing is I was also looking at buying an old hickory 6'' butcher just a couple nights ago. :)

Yeah, thinning the grip towards the top would increase the liklihood of your hand sliding forward during use. I would almost stop the edge right where you intend to modify the blade shape. The section of blade facing your hand should be kept edge-free.
