Anybody have any information on this massive cleaver? I'm restoring it, no doubt, but I was unable to find much information on it on the interwebs so I am reaching out to the knowledgeable axe people! Sure, it's not an axe, but it could certainly function as one. Forgive the goofy photo of me posing with it, it is to give perspective to the size. Thanks again, guys!

The photos don't show the stamp, but the stamp reads as follows:

ORR & LOCKETT
HDW CO.
CHICAGO

Dates back to somewhere between 1872-1916 (inclusive) according to this source.

Looks like a classic beef splitter. Hog splitters are lighter in build, and generally narrower.

If you Google "carcase splitter" you get the new saws; then you'll find references to robotic carcase splitting. We've come a long way!
