Hi Gang,
I stopped @ a pawn shop today and almost everything they had was used and/or abused. He did have an interesting couple, one 3 blade and a smaller 2 blade Anvil brand. Since I know nothing abut the Anvil history or level of craftmanship associated w/ the brand, I thought someone here might be able to enlighten me. The smaller of the two looked in better shape, but the handles didn't quite sit flush with the bolster, or maybe corner of bolster and handle weren't lined up well. Some of a gap betwwen backside of handle and liner, but no movement from looseness on any of the parts. Got home found one similar online and it also looks like bolster and handle weren't really lined up before anchored. Pawn shop one has an S curve length of the handle with horizontal sawcuts above and below the Scurve. One online same pattern but has staglon type contrast brown & white whereas pawn ones both same tone brown, a little lighter tone on the highpoint of the S. The three online were under the pre70 category, but I'm not sure they looked that old. Thank yee in advance.

I think this would do better over in Traditional...

Anvil Brand knives were made by Colonial Knife Company of Providence RI, circa 1970's to 1990's. A decent low to moderate priced slipjoint line.....I believes that they were made with stainless steel blades.

Thanksaholic,
I did discover the link to Colonial this mornin when I couldn't get in bladeforum.
As for the REST of ya.....well XX-quesss... ME! I'm having a hard enough time finding my way around in the first place. Definitely harder if posts get moved w/o notice. Well, guess it's a sign I'm fitting in (a lil) if ya'lls feel comfortable razzin me. lol
It still shows no posts to this so I was surprised to find some. Kind of killed my original post idea tho. I was going to say no posts to the anvil question meant one of two things. 1. Nobody knew the answer (doubtful w/ level of eggspurtise in here) or 2. I had managed to pull a fupah by asking such a fool question, on par with walking into the Richard Childress workshop and asking which car they'd recommend as a restoration project, a Vega or a Shovette.
One last forum related question since you'se guys are feeling so...helpful :D
I've typed a few lengthy posts and hit submit and instead of posting it goes to the login page and post disappears. Anyone know how long the timer is set before you get unlogged? I'm just not as fast getting things down since that mule (actually a stroke) kicked me in the haid.
BTW I did try to find the answer to Anvil before asking, but all I got were leads on Real anvils, how much they cost per pound etc.
Thanks for keeping me on the straight and narrow gang

Wosey, it is possible for knife junkies to be stymied. I've managed it with a Remington Daddy Barlow, Musket Series. Not only here, over on the Levine folder, but every knife collector at Gun Shows, and even Remington (go figure). So it is possible that sometimes folks won't know and will therefore not post rather than try to snow you. Frustrating not to get info, I know, really, I know, but good that you don't get bombarded with BS.

Welcome.

You know a Cosworth Vega might be worth a restore. ;)
