Adirondack style. Does it have a shoulder on both sides below the head like a double bit handle or one side like a single bit handle?

Use postimage to host pictures.
It's simple , free, super easy, and you don't have to sign up of you don't want to.
Upload them, then tap or click the little box at the end of the hotlink for forums ( it'll say copied ) then just paste it here.

Btw there were patterns that we're double bits with curved handles but I have no clue if Kelly ever made them.

Here is a photo, finally figured that out ....... I didn't read the post with the instructions carefully, another to follow. Note the shimmed handle.

Finally, an overall shot from the ebay listing. Some folks say it is a single bit handle on the double bit Flint Edge (Kelly) head. One fellow thought it might be original but for the shimming. Thanks to all who replied so far.

i remeber that one being listed as original, could not find anything about it,think one of the toes was worn.sweet handle

"Original" means different things to different people.

NOS original, Factory original, and "in the same state as found" sometimes kind of get swapped around some.

It's a cool looking axe but the tongue on that handle doesn't really fit the narrow lower opening nor the wider opening at the top, hence the shims. The handle looks intact - the edges of both sides of the kerf look like they taper down to points like it's all there.

Woodslashers were sent out Red but were the Flint Edge line factory painted like that?

I wonder if the name on the handle prompted the color of the head?

Neat axe and very much worth using and discussion
