Any head shavers in here?

Evening,

I've been shaving my head myself for oh about 10 years or so (usually only in the summer). I cannot seem to get rid of stubble though. I've tried Electric, Mach III, Sensor, Murker, Cheapo Bic Metal, etc etc. Everything I use leaves a bit of stubble, not noticable to the naked eye but I can feel it. Any suggestions besides a straight razor?

Thanks

Laser hair removal! :P :)

I never tried shaving my head. Maybe after you have it shaved down pretty close you could apply shaving cream and a hot, moist, towel over your head. Let this sit for awhile to open up your pores and let the hair eject further out from the skin. Then remove the towel and re-lather, with warm lather if possible, and shave. Might have to attack the stubble from different directions.

You could try mixing up some shaving soap as these are high in glycerin and other things that help soften the hair and eject it from the skin.

Once you are done shaving you may still feel some stuble. Rinse your head off with cool to cold water and this will close the pores back up and retract the stuble. Wait a few minutes and see if it feels smoother. You might try using after shave all over your head to prevent razor burn, etc.

So the trick is trying to get your hairs to eject out as far as possible. You may have to experiment with different products to see what works best, but a hot towel on your scalp for awhile will get things going. You could do this right after a shower, let the warm water run on your head for awhile.

do alotta U-TURNS under the bedsheets. You'll be bald and polished ....or was that balled and buffed?? hehehe :D

i have shaved my head before and the thing about shaveing is that your hair grows right bad from almost the moment u cut it.....this happends because threw cutting ur hair it stimulates nerve endings causeing a readtion to start growing again thats why when u shave the hair grows right back....try to save normaly then go over with just water no shaving gell.....helps sometimes....

Just go and get a close cut, I don't see any reason to shave your head unless you're on the Equator or work around lice etc.

I've been shaving my head for about 14 years. Most of the time I just use clippers without the guard. If I want it shaved, I clip it first, then use gilette sensor razors and whatever shaving cream or gel I have around.

I bought an old 1940 Gillette Safety Razor on eBay. They said it was sterilized but I took it to a tattoo artist friend of mine and had him run it through the autoclave just to be sure. I bought some persona double edge blades for it. I just used it and had the closest shave ever. Forget disposables, old school razors rule. :D :D :D My head is very happy now.

I shaved my head as often as possible while I was in Mosul. Used everything from AAFES cheapo razors to Mach3. The best thing I found is the Mach 3 with the vibrator thing.

Anyone tried burning your hair? maybe it'll grow slower. If I'm out in the wild for extended period, I'll shave my hair with a knife and use it as a tinder.

The vibrator mach 3 is awesome. It sound so dirty to say that.
I have only shaved my head a few times. I have a friend who shaves it daily. I will get it clipped then shave it down and let it grow out a good bit before shaving. For me, I can get a stubly shave easily, but I have a strange hair growth pattern and if I am stubborn i can get most of it smooth with the vibrating mach3. I am sure that once I become more familiar with my head (err that sounds strange) I will get better. I basically shave twice. The first time I just remove the bulk of the hair by working out, then I try to get most places against the grain, feeling for rough spots. My friend who has more nomal hair growth is pretty good at getting smooth with two shaves.
