Got this knife in today. Not sure what it is. Single blade, no tang stamp, but clear "Uncle Henry" engraved shield. I thought at first it might be a 127UH or 227UH with one blade removed. But the mark side doesn't have the bolster scallop for the linerlock (and knife doesn't have a linerlock). As for the 227UH thought, the blade looks more like a large turkish clip, or even a filet, (and it's actually pretty flexible), than the secondary skinning blade on the 227UH. Plus, note the position of the nail nick. all the 227UH and 25OT knives I saw had the nail nick on the second blade much further toward the end of the blade. The knife doesn't look at all like it's ever been apart, but I'm no expert by any means. I scanned through the catalogs on Larry's site, but couldn't find anything quite like it.

 Could be a LBS but what ever I do like the look of "it"!!!

Not sure if the bolster pin shows in person as bad as the pics but maybe a REDO with some one elses(COs) blade? the blade profile doesn't fit and carbon? I dunno.

Id say it's been doctored on.Don't know what the blade is if it's not the skinner blade out of the folding hunter.Could be almost anything.Pretty nice job.

The pins have been changed, so it's likely that the blade has too.

looks like a 197UH on steroids, minus the linerlock of course, very different Dave!

its unique, weird, and different. well made looking. who knows-can only enhance a collection! great grab-------brady

Dave,
I have been thinking about this. You have a fine collection of excellent Thoroughbred knives.
I am sure you do not want to spoil your collection with a knife of such questionable lineage.

Please feel free to send it to me before it contaminates the bloodlines of your purebred stock.
It is the least I can do for a friend. :D:D:D

I thought it might be the secondary blade off of a 227, but Dave's does have the turkish clip shape like a 197. This skinning blade on the 227 is a little different.

Dave, can you post a pic of spine with blade open taken directly overhead ?

Is it perspective, or is that backspring tapered???

Looks like Perspective to me;) but never the less WHO ever WHERE ever that was done looks good !

The first pic has a little too much glare to fully see the blade to spring juncture but from here the fit (based on that pic) looks GOOD?

i agree with 6.0 above. unfortunately the blade/backspring junction is washed out in pic., but from what can be seen, blade fits frame and spring perfectly. i.e., right sized blade thickness & tang for the knife; and it does not look like it has been apart, so not likely a replacement blade.
must be a PROTOTYPE !!
