Any knife shop in California?

Any friend tell me whether there is knife shop in California?
I am from China and next year I will go to Stanford University for short term course as an exchange student and as a part of my EMBA study.
I want to know where any knife shop is near the University or in California.

California is a very, very big state. If you are going to school at Stanford, look for stores in San Jose or even an Francisco. There is an excellent knife store called Plaza Cutlery, but it is in Orange County, south of Los Angeles, and at least 500 miles from where you will be.

It appears to be there. On the web it is called "We Be Knives".
They appear to be full MSRP as is common with most brick and mortar stores. But not priced higher than that.
 
Take a little trip south to Solvang. Nordic Knives. Make a weekend out of it. Bring lots of $$$.
 
Stores in California? You should take a look at a map to see how big CA is. Will you have a car when you are at Stanford? It would be more realistic to find places within 1-2 hours drive from where you are for shopping purposes.

San Francisco, go to TAD Gear & the Spy Shop. Not too many "only knives" stores in Northern CA that are any good, most will be in Malls and which sell overpriced junk. You can buy these cheaper in China.

But since you will be in Bay Area, just look up gun stores. You will get to see lots of firearms that you won't be able to buy as a non-resident, however, they typically have a large number of "tactical" knives you will be able to purchase.

You can then visit indoor gun shooting ranges, you will be able to rent guns to shoot with a valid passport. They will have a decent selection of knives to look at & buy as well.

Target Masters, Milpitas


Also, look-up army surplus stores & sporting good stores. These will have plenty of good and junk knives for sale.
 
There is Stevens Creek Surplus, Mountain View Surplus, Knife Stalkers, and Castello Gun Shop, in the San Jose area, all about a half hour or so from Stanford.
