Hi,

Are there knives with button operated compression lock except Spyderco Smock and the current offers from Vosteed?
It must have thumb stud only, deep carry clip, drop point shaped premium blade (S35VN and above) and less that 80g/2.8oz weight.
Or any rumors about it?

The Remette Rhino is the only knife I'm aware of that ticks most of your boxes. It's a bit heavier than 2.8oz and has 14C28N steel. I don't know if it's a quality knife, but it's so cheap that you might as well try it.

The RS Shu fits the bill, aside from the 3.48 oz heft.

Well there's this but it scales at 3.8oz

Thank you. I like it but it's too heavy for me and the steel doesn't hold the edge well. The button lock is a bit different than I'm looking for but it has a real detent in the liner.

This would be a good one with better steel, the right placement of the deep carry clip and a bit lighter weight.

The Hedgehog comes close, although it’s heavy, but it’s a chunky kind of style. It also has a very small flipper tab.

You’re awful particular.
I wrote down my needs. That's all. I don't care the color, the handle material can be G10 with or without liners (milled or plain) or CF (milled or plain) or aluminum or titanium, the texture of the scales, the finish on the blade, the carry clip can be wire or milled, the thumbstud can be single or dual, the stell can be S35VN, S45V, Elmax, S30V, 20CV, M390, S90V, Magnacut, Vanax...
and any variations of these.

...but it has to be one of the rarest types of lock.

This is probably your best bet. I know YouTube reviewers have mentioned the clip placement, but you’ll never know for yourself until you try it. I’ve had super deep carry clips that carried so deep, it was a hassle getting the knife out of pocket.

14C28N is a great budget steel, I’ve had great luck with it. I can heartily recommend. At the price for this version of the Racoon, it’s a wonderful steel choice.

Finally, not sure where you draw your 2.8 ounce limit, but I’m not sure if I could tell 2.8 from 3.0 ounces. You always have the option to lose 0.2 ounces from your keys, wallet, phone case etc.

I've just bought it. Hopefully Vosted will upgrade this modell with better steel and the right clip placement. Thanks.
I just loved my Para 3 compression lock but it was too wide in my pocket beside my phone, and was also heavy. I didn't like that I have to reach the lock and I liked the solution on the Smock. I'm happy that the patient expired so my favourite lock will be available on more knives.
