Any 'nicer' pens take the Pilot G2 Refill?

I'm a pen fanatic. I have purchased way, way too many. Some have been expensive, some have been cheap. I have recently settled on the Pilot G2 as my go to pen because I love the way it writes.

I do not like the cheap looking, plastic case though. Are there are metal or nicer looking plastic cases that these refills will fit in? I know some of the Mont Blanc refills are very close in size to the Pilot, but I don't know what pens will take those refills.

I'm willing to spend a bit on a nice pen, but I'd prefer not to break the bank either. Just wondering if these refills fit in anything else.

Thanks!

I created a thread on this in another forum a while back and didn't get many answers, so I hope this thread gets more responses.

I am sure it goes without saying that the G2 Pro is available and the Pilot Dr. Grip rollerball pens accept G2 refills. I have settled on a silver or charcoal Dr. Grip myself.

Most pen manufacturers don't want to give up their "design" to other major manufacturers. Even though they would sell more refills, they would sell fewer pens, which is really where the money is.

My recommendation is this, take the refill down to your local woodworking shop, (Rockler is mine) and ask around for people who make fine pens out of exotic hardwoods. If your lucky, they will know they guy by name or have his card. Then support your local craftsman by having him make you the exact pen you want.

In my previous career, I met thousands of people who "searched" for the exact pen they had last year, or the exact pen that fit their hand, or the exact pen they lost when they were twelve. Most of them were badly disappointed when they found out that the pen industry tries to innovate, not produce what they liked.

This refill will fit Waterman rollerballs; with some razorblading the Lamy Swift as well. There are actually several that the G2 as well as Uniball & Zebra Sarasa will fit nicely.

I'm just coming off a 12 hr. Fire/EMS shift & am a little too foggy, but will compile my list of actually quite a few & come back w/ them in a few days.
