Ugh so over it being on EVERY damn knife.

Companies’ charging more for it like it so spesh when it doesn’t even hold an edge like S45.

Even bloody CRK, who should only be allowed to use steels that Chris had a hand in designing, are using magnacut.

Made the knife landscape so damn bland (in addition to every knife being a made in China ti flipper meow). I want variety dammit.

440C, ATS-34, 440V, 154CM, CPM-154, M390, S30V, S35VN, 20CV... they all have their time in the sun...some longer than others.

Buy what you like...whatever has the attributes you are looking for. I'm happy with MagnaCut, M4, Cru-Wear, 3V.

At least it's not s30v... 🤷‍♂️ That was the end all, be all when I first started to pay attention to such things. Blade steel is pretty far down on my list of priorities anyway. If I like a knife and want it bad enough to pay the asking price, I really don't care what steel it has.

I guess using that logic CRK should not have made great fixed blades with A2.

You might want to try MagnaCut before blowing it off. It has some great attributes.
Lots of choices out there.

I love it! What I don’t like is that people are charging more for it just because it’s MAGNACUT

For example, if you go to bladehq and look at the Manix 2 in M4 and Magnacut, the one in Magnacut is substantially more expensive! (And the one in M4 has a coated blade) If anything the one in M4 should be more expensive (it’s not like one steel is way more expensive to buy, plus, if anything M4 is harder to work with)

Here, here......90% of the time I couldn't care less what steel my knife is.......Or yours😜!!!!!

That particular case is because the MC M2 is regular production and has to be sold at MAP with the MSRP Spyderco dictates (which also just went up on the first of this month), and the sprint in M4 doesn't have the same restriction. If the M4 was regular production it would be higher (funny enough)

No, you're thrilled to have MagnaCut on the market. What would you gripe about here if you didn't have that?

"Buy what you like", well, sort of... Seems like EVERY new release is damn magnacut, so not many options if you want a new knife. And because it's the latest fad, manufacturers are charging a big premium for it.
I think the biggest gripe is that they aren't offering a "regular" steel option on most new designs. I'd much rather have CPM-154 for 30%+ less.
