Sooo I got that itch again, and I need a little help deciding what to buy.
I already have a Hudson bay 6 point wool blanket (this is just the best blanket ever ! no two ways about it.) and I also have a Filson blanket, a rather nice blanket, no doubt.
I got both from new (yes, I payed full price) Now I’m looking to try a Pendleton wool blanket.
But unlike the Filson and Hudson bay, a Pendleton blanket seem to come in a whole lot of different kinds, and I need a little help from some one who has personal experience with, well any Pendleton blanket really. (Or an opinion )

Which one do you have ?

Would you get it again ?

How/where/for what do you used it ?

If you were to get a Pendleton blanket, witch one would you get, and why ? (Lets assume you got a free gift certificakte for 1 pendleton blanket, just to eliminate the cost concern).

I’m looking to used the blanket to sleep in, when I’m outside, like I do my Filson and/or Hudson bay blanket.
Right now I’m looking at the YAKIMA CAMP BLANKET, while not a 100% pure wool, it seems to be a blanket made for the outdoors.

I have a YAKIMA CAMP BLANKET and really enjoy it. while it's about 80% wool it is thicker than some of my other older pendeltons and seems just as warm or warmer.

Hey TedP, that's a pretty cool poncho, it might just make the list in the future.

For how long have you had the YAKIMA CAMP BLANKET?

I wonder why there aren't more (Or any , really) reviews of Pendleton blankets around, when talking wool blankets its pretty much always comes up as one of the top contenders.

I've got a Pendleton blanket, purchased some 20 years ago. Couldn't tell you what model it is, and they probably don't make this exact one anymore anyway, but it's a darn good, 100% wool, 100% USA-made blanket that is still going strong.

Got this one not to long ago boss got it for his wife she didnt like it so he gave it to me been on my bed since . Sorry for the bad pic was snapping the knife not the blanket. I also have no idea what pattern it is I looked but wasn't able to find one like it . But i did freak out when I saw what they go for new.

I have one I got on sale at REI for around 40ish, should have nabbed the other one also but ah well.

I Used it at the academy for a year, been sleeping with it ever since. Mine is 86% wool, 14% cotton. It's from the home collection but I wouldn't hesitate to take it outdoors. The only reason I don't is it is my primary bedding and I don't want dirt on my bed haha I would gladly buy it again and am always on the lookout for Pendleton stuff at goodwill and such.

Hope this helps!

I have two. One is an actual blanket (could cover a full size bed) the other is smaller. I use the smaller, thinner one a lot as an insulating layer between my sleeping bag and the ground. The larger one pulls duty indoors and out. I have a vw westy so we use the larger one in the van. I have slept outside using only the large blanket many times but to be honest I was typically sitting with it wrapped around me. I have had the big one for at least 15 years and it is still in really good shape. A couple years back a senior citizen wrecked on his bicycle in front of my neighbors house. It was winter and cold. The man had hit his head pretty bad, was bleeding and was unconscious. I wasn't sure if it was cold or shock but he was shaking so i grabbed a blanket to cover him with till the EMT's arrived. When the EMT'S loaded him up they took the blanket as well. I figured that was the last I had seen of it. The fellow passed from his injuries a couple days later at the hospital. A few days later we received a nice note from his family thanking us for helping their father, they had also had the blanket cleaned and returned. I still have it. It is great product.

we have a couple the first one i bought my wife on our honeymoon 15 yrs ago and the other is one of the national park series both are really great quality and I would by them again

It does help, infarct this is the stuff I like to hear about, everyday down to earth stuff. To me it tells a story where a quality piece of gear is put to work every day, and not just some item that is bought and fondled, while dreaming about using the gear.
Not that there is anything wrong with that, I do it often my self.

I hooked up with my wife about 17 years ago, I wish I would have gotten her something good back then , instead of the cheap crap I gave her, but money were tight back then for the both of us.
I hope I'll be as happy with the blanket as you guys are. Then I might just get 1 for each of my kids for when they move out.

That is a cool story, even if it is a bit sad.
Good on you for helping out. I find it pretty amazing that the guys family would clean and return the blanket, I don't think I would care about some guys blanket if it happened to me(I hope I would, but I doubt it )

So I finally pulled the tricker on a Pendleton yakima camp blanket, queen size. 90 X 90.
Now comes the hard part, waiting for it *Sigh*

When I buy something and click "confirm purchase" I want it to be in my hand RIGHT NOW, anything less is to slow.

Well at any rate its gonna take a little while before I try it out, out side, I'm at the end of a combined flu & pneumonia spell. My wife would be pretty pissed if I slept below freezing before I'm of penicillin.

Guess I'm just impatient about the latest toy :D

Anybody ever get one of these cleaned or washed? I know your not supposed to just wondering if anyone has. I just take mine outside and knock all the dirt off that's it. Sooner or later going to have to clean it.
