Wasn’t sure where to put this because I’m not looking for a SAK per sae so I figured this would do.
For work I would like to have an EDC folder that has a can opener only.

Can openers have a way of walking off and break pretty frequently. Couple weeks back out of the blue I slipped a leatherman in my pocket on a whim, never carried one before. I get to work and discover my can opener is missing so I whip out the tool and get the job done. I couldn’t believe how the tool saved my butt the first day I carried it so I decided to make it an EDC. Well here we are two weeks later and I haven’t needed it for anything. It’s kind of just a heavy bother in my pocket. I already carry a flashlight and folder and I refuse to wear anything on my belt.
I’m looking for a folder with about a 3 inch blade or less and a can opener, nothing more. The Multitool is great and comes in handy but it will be fine in the glove box of my truck if I need it.
Any ideas?

A solid knife made of tough steel shouldn't need a can opener - for it is one.
The can opener wasn't invented until January 5, 1858, some 50 years after canned food was commercially available.
Sorry of that did not answer the exact question posed, but a good knife can do much.

kershaw makes a perfect one - if you don't mind a smaller 2.5" blade, the 'shuffle'

I would just get a P38 or P51 can opener and go with that. They work at least as well as an opener on a folding knife.
My dad carried two things every single day: a small pair of nail clippers and a P38 can opener. When he'd do his two weeks a year he carried a USN Mk-2 as well. It wasn't until later in his life that he started carrying a pocket knife regularly.

Thanks for that info! I just don’t trust my employees opening a can with my knife. Plus there is a safety issue. I don’t mind handing it to them to use the can opener part. Even your common everyday moron can get that done without injuring themselves although I’m sure it happens.

I did not understand that it was for others to do the can opening; your point is well taken.
For a serious knife knut - opening cans with a good knife is a relatively simple task - for the rest ... ???

If it’s for your employees and they are morons then it just doesn’t make sense to carry your own personal combination knife and can opener and plan on lending it to them out of your pocket. Get them an electric can opener for around 20 bucks, leave it by the cans and forget about it imo

The electric ones last about a week in a commercial setting so they are a waste of money. 95% of the time I have a couple crank style can openers but again they don’t last more than a couple months at best and tend to disappear. This is for emergencies when I can’t just run out and buy one on the spot. I always have a folder on me so I’m trying to knock out two birds with one stone.
The Spydiclip looks pretty good. Truth be told the day I actually need it will be the one day I decide to carry a different knife.
If I’m being honest I’m just looking for an excuse to buy a new knife.

There is a code among kitchen staff. You treat a knife like you treat someone’s wife. You don’t touch it unless they lend it to you and when they do you give it right back in the same condition.

1. I can't think of a knife that only has a knife + can opener only.

2. Buy a decent manual can opener(s), 18 inches of light chain, and bolt/connect one end to the opener and the end to the counter/wall so people can't steal them.

3. If you have a table/counter area, get a manual opener that screws/bolts to the table/counter. These are found in many restaurant and pretty sturdy.

4. Then buy yourself a new knife of some type.
