I picked up 2 Steinbruckes; #1 has Sandvick 14c28n & g10 handle for $10 and #2 has 8cr13mov & also a g10 handle for $9. Theres almost 0 discussion posts about this brand (unless Im just blind) so wanted to see if anyone has heard of them? I am sincerely shocked & impressed with the quality, fit/finish, build quality and just overall as a knife. I thought they would be just another mtech/tacforce type of brand & quality but I was definitely mistaken-these are significantly better than mtech & etc. These knives are pretty awesome especially since I bought them for insanely cheap. Im pretty new to knives so I wanted to buy something cheap just to start out and thats how I ended up finding this Steinbrucke brand but as I am new I dont have anything to compare them to as a way to measure their quality but by just handling them you can tell they are quality knives.

First I've heard of them. They do resemble the usual white labeled china knives. But I guess they use high quality German steal..not sure about all that.

Upon my quick research they probably are a step above mtech and tacforce..and not a bad start for someone.

One con I seen in a review is the blade coming lose..so that is definitely not a good thing.

Saying that, I think there are better options for just a bit more money

The thing that concerns me about Steinbrucke folders is their lack of reviews. Not only on Amazon but anywhere on the internet. However. Steinbrucke do have an extensive kitchen cutlery section on their website with some decent looking kitchen knives.

German brand name, logo, full bolsters....looks German.

"STEINBRUCKE KNIVES are committed to deliver German top quality knives to world wide. With the enthusiasm to provide customers around the world the highest quality knives at an affordable price, the group based in Munich..."

But seems like China manufacture, and prices

So in other words. I might as well go to Big Lots and pick up a $30 kitchen knife set? Steinbrucke sounds like garbage to me.

Ya it was a nice surprise to see that though I bought them for mtech prices they are a step above but I do plan to buy move up pretty soon. Im really starting to love knives! Soo much fun!

Hah Im a pretty big watch collector (ive taken a bit of a break latelty) but Im very familiar with the fake but pretty sounding name and backstory when its just a Chinese brand haha. I never thought it was actually German knife lol just it seems like a decent low end knife. It really does!

Yep! Im pretty ocd and I live and die by reviews (blessing and a curse) and when I saw there was not much about this brand I got suspicious but I decided to just try them out because of how inexpensive and I know Im a new knife enthusiast and I have a lot to learn but It really seems to be a decent low end knife. Just by how it feels you can tell and it performs really well...so far. But I do plan to move up soon! I never knew how much fun this hobby is!

Not a big thing bud. I got a ton to learn also. Even with 20 years of collecting. I am constantly finding myself wrong on knives. And realizing some of my knives I paid over $200-$300 for are not worth their asking price. I got some knives that make MTech look like a Rockstead. Opinions on knives are as numerous as raindrops in a thunderstorm. If you read forums here. You can get a good feel for good knives. Both in the budget and high dollar range. Welcome to the knife hobby friend.

Thank you! I havent even really begun to explore the knife world and Im already in love! Wow so youre def a knife pro haha and ya same thing for me with watches. Even thouch its been several years collecting, Im still learning. Ive been reading the forumns and I compiled a list, a pretty detailed list of knife brands and steels & other specs into like a tier list. I will say various steels and what makes a good steel or bad steel is still pretty overwhelming for me but Im learning! I think my next step is a CRKT Drifter or like a QSP Penguin or something similar. So still in the budget realm. Someone on Knife Dog sent me a Kershaw Leek as like a 'welcome to knives' gift which I was really really thankful and grateful some1 would do that for s stranger you know and I really like that knife! Ohh one day I would love a Microtech! What would you suggest for a $30-$35 (I know this isnt much) knife?

There is nothing wrong with budget blades. Heck I own $12 Moraknifes. I still buy budget blades also. I rarely go beyond $60. And my most expensive knife is only $360 range. Which is considered by many as a beginner level mid tier knife. The rest of my knives run in the $50 to $200 range. There are so many variables such as lock design, Handle type, blade grinds, Etc. That It is hard for me to make a good recommendation. But I can tell you that the Drifter is a good choice for the money. My favorite budget blade I would recommend to you is the Kershaw Oblivion. One of my favorite budget knives that I own. And available at any Wall Mart.

Do you have access to some stores that sell knives you can handle? My suggestion is to look for handle designs that feel good to your hand. What you may like I may not find comfortable, too big, too small, etc. I would recommend measuring your hand width and length with a tape measure and finding handles a bit larger than your hand size.

One example of a bad handle for me is the Ontario Machete. I got it and upon arrival I used it to clear some branches. The handle kept twisting in my grip. I wear a XXL glove and the handle was too small to where I could not get a good grip. I gave it to my godfather who has a medium sized hand. And he can grip it well to where it will not twist in his hand.

You can have a $2000 Rockstead and if it the handle is not comfortable. You will probably be disappointed.

This product is definitely not German but rather a poorly made, low quality Chinese made rubbish. It is so extremely disappointing and a total rip-off, save your money and buy a real knife.

I wasn't expecting much, and received less than I expected. Don't let the name fool you. This is Chinese junk.

Just on general principles , I despise deceptive practices, like fronting as a "German" knife maker when actually peddling low quality PRC goods .
