Went to Wallyworld today and saw a display of Leatherman Kick multitools for $23.00. Just wondering if it is worth the money. I mean it's only $23. Figured one more multi-tool lying around the house can't hurt.

Thanks for the input,

I picked one up at Home Depot one day because, well, I was "tooless". There's not much to it, but the implements are all solid. For a while, I carried the Kick to supplement my new Wave because I was sure the little bits on the Wave would bust under pressure. I guess the Kick is similar to the old PST as far as the implements. Is it worth $23.00 ? If you need it, it sure is!:)

Usually you can get it for $30 if it's cheaper you should get it, like you said a multitool arround the house wont hurt you.

I don't own the Kick, but have handled it and for the price I really like it. You get the full size pliars, and most basic drivers in an easy to carry package. The down side is the crappy blade, but whatever.

I looked at the Kick very hard before i went with the Fuse. I really like the fact that the blades lock on the fuse, but for 23 clams?? Heck yeah it;s worth it:thumbup:

I carry a Charge Ti everywhere else, but a kick with the pocket clip at work so I can abuse it without a second thought. At 23 dollars I think I should buy another one. The clip works great, but when I got it from LM I had to bend it to make it fit right. It was easy and I like how thin the whole package is. I know nothing locks on it, but with the blade folding out from inside the handle, its never a safety issue, just a minor annoyance. My blade takes a descent edge too compared to other inexpensive multitools. All around a great buy!

I've got the kick, which I bought to replace a PST II that broke. For $23 it's a lot of widget for the money, though it does have less than that PST II did. I don't like the plastic inserts, they seem like they're just going to get broken and shrapnelize making it uncomfortable to use at some point, but otherwise it's a good little tool. I do like the design of the Phillips head on this model a lot more than the PST II, and even more than the Gerber designs.

Hi Porkchop,
I have been a huge fan of Leatherman tools for many years. Have owned several models including PST, PST II, Supertool (original model), Wave several Micras and most recently a Blast. If the Kick is anything like the Balst I have I would say get it! I have found the Blast to be one of the best Leatherman tool I have ever owned.
I had a custom leather clip on sheath made for my wave several years ago, and if I could contact the maker again I would have a sheath made to carry the Blast and a mini Mag light.
Best of luck with your purchase.

Leatherman makes a nice knife, Walmart sells stuff right. Cant beat the two together. The low end Leathermans make good utility knives and if they break or get lost you dont get too excited.

The Blast is great. Comfortable grip for pliers with no pinching (at last). Tools open easily one at a time and lock positively into place with the new rocker plate lock mechanism. It is a sturdy, compact every day companion. After only three weeks I feel lost without it on my belt. I am trying to get the bit driver adapter and a bit kit - just does not seem to be available here. If anyone is coming out this way from Portland maybe you could bring a Blast adapter and bit kit with you in return for several nights accommodation and ferrying around?
