Anyone know when Victorinox adventurer and similar 111 mm models first came out?

Hi all,

I'm trying to dredge my memory on the above question...I recall seeing what I now believe to be a Victorinox Adventurer in a catalog in 1987. I remembered at the time was how different and cooler the contoured handle looked like.

Would anyone know when these 111mm models with palm swell handles first came out? Better yet, does anyone have a scan of the circa 1987 Victorinox catalog?

Thanks much!

I bought an Adventurer from a Ace Hardware store back around 1991 or so. What sticks out about it is that it was the first I had seen and subsequently purchased a 111mm SAK. I think it was like 20 bucks then. I also recall having a little chat with one of the men working there, saying it had been around a couple or three years at that point. So 1987 would likely be the time it was introduced. Sosak might have some details on that as well.
